“We come from Šuto Orizari, or Shutka for short, a neighbourhood run by Roma in the north of Skopje. We didn’t stay in Belgium for long: when we heard that my mother had died, we had to return after less than a year. I couldn't leave my 16-year-old brother behind in an institution in Macedonia, could I? Thanks to the reintegration assistance, I now work as a woodworker. I dream of having my own studio, but I don’t have the money for the right equipment yet. I’ll keep saving, keep hoping. Maybe it will work out later. That would really be like coming home.”
